Having a conduit is an old practice, an ancient tradition, and most Blue Bloods no longer keep to the old ways. Most vampire families got rid of their conduits (such as the Forces). Conduits who don't work for any single family work as librarians in the Repository of History. Most Blue Bloods resent Conduits; they think that they shouldn't be there or know about them. Blue Bloods are not supposed to feed off of conduits. Conduits are trained to resist the glom. Under the Vampire-Conduit Confidentiality Act of 1755, conduits don't need to divulge information about their vampire.
