The 400 Ball
A strictly old-fashioned affair- about class, status, beauty, power, money, and blood... Bloodlines, that is, Blue bloodlines.
The Code [of Vampires]
- The code is like the Ten Commandments of the Blue Bloods, the laws of creation
- All vampires ("Vampyres" actually, meaning "fire angel" in the old tongue) are bound to it's rules
- No harm must come to the human familiars
- Can only have several human familiars at once
- Can only feed on them once every 48 hours
- You must have the Red Blood's familiar to perform Caerimonia Osculor
- Only 400 alive at the same time
- Do not interfere directly with human political affairs, though this is clearly not enforced. (Senator Llewellyn is in direct violation)
- It is forbidden to perform Caerimonia Osculor on other Blue Bloods
Cover Organizations
Blue Bloods often use normal organizations as fronts for their activity.
The Committee
- The full name is the "New York Blood Bank Committee"
- It's one of the oldest charities in New York, and also the most prestegious
- Only the children of the most socially prominant families were invited to join as Junior Members
- Everyone who was anyone at Duchesne was in The Committee; being a member elevated you to a social stratosphere that was so lofty, mere mortals could only aspire to, but never reach its heights
- Captains of all the school teams and the editors of the newspaper and the yearbook were members; but it wasn't an honors society because students like Madeleine Force who did nothing extracurricular made up the bulk of its membership
- The Committee is snobby, cliquey, and exclusive to the extreme; membership comprised of only kids from the top private schools
- It never releases a full list of its members- if you were on the outside, you could only guess who was in it
- The Committee ring features a gold serpent around a cross
- They usually induct new members in the spring
The Conspiracy
- A subset of the Committee dedicated to keeping the Red Bloods from knowing about them
- A Hungarian Blue Blood had been responsible for the Dracula myth
- The Conspiracy disseminated false information
- According to the Committee, nothing can kill Blue Bloods; the crucifix, garlic, sun, and stakes were made up ideas
- Red bloods think mutatio enables blue bloods to turn into fire and water
